  • Overview

    The Category Analyst is primarily responsible for assisting the category team in analyzing customer specific data, market and consumer data in order to build sound business recommendations and develop high quality supporting presentations. 

    Responsibilities

    • Fact Based Sales Support - Integrates information from many sources and develops actionable insights and recommendations in support of category and team initiatives. This work includes, but is not limited to, new product introductions, pricing analyses, seasonal reviews and programs, promotional planning and evaluation.
    • Modular Development - Leverages Pro Space tools to deliver superior and error free modulars. Responsible for ongoing maintenance of modular tools (images, product library, performance library, etc.) and collaborate with customer’s modular development team.
    • Sales Reporting and Interpretation – manages current reporting structure and develops new analyses tools to assist the team with fact based recommendations based on category and consumer trends.
    • Continuous Improvement - Continuously improve our capabilities and processes to drive superior results.

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Marketing, Business Administration or related field and 2+ years of relevant Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience in sales, marketing, category management or trade marketing C; required.
    • MBA, preferred.
    • Experience with and understanding of category management processes is preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience working with syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, etc.), preferred
    • Ability to synthesize data from multiple resources to build actionable recommendations.
    • Advanced analytical skills using PC based applications (Windows, Excel, Powerpoint) with emphasis on Advanced Excel Pivot Tables to database queries required to manipulate & synthesize data from multiple resources to build actionable recommendations.
    • Demonstrated strengths in analysis and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with enthusiasm and impact both verbally and written.
    • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
    • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
