    As an Information Technology Team member, you would assist in managing a variety of projects at multiple locations. Supporting configuration, troubleshooting, and software/hardware testing to advance technology solutions across the business. You would be responsible for supporting IT projects & implementations and while ensuring all stakeholders stay connected.

     

    The Enterprise Solutions Architect is responsible for overseeing all architecture related aspects on assigned and approved projects. The Enterprise Solutions Architect will leverage and use technology solutions to enable the organization's future-state business capabilities that, in turn, drive the organization's targeted business outcomes. The Enterprise Solutions Architect is accountable for the development of the technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure the solution supports business outcomes, delivers new capabilities and aligns with enterprise technology standards. The Enterprise Solution Architect is involved in researching, reviewing, and making recommendations on any new enterprise solutions or innovations from the perspective of design, integration, security, and technical fit with existing systems, technical blueprints or technology standards. The Enterprise Solutions Architect will provide the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to the development of enterprise solutions and the establishment of an enterprise architecture. The Enterprise Solutions Architect creates deliverables that help develop a direction for managing the organization's portfolio of "to be" and "as is" solutions — including systems (meaning not just applications, but also processes and information), shared infrastructure services, and shared application services and components to better match targeted business outcome objectives.

     

    *This role can be based out of our Smithfield, VA, Lisle, IL or Kansas City, KC office.* 

    Responsibilities

    • Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state), and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.
    • Design and lead the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, business requirements and conformance to enterprise technology standards.
    • Manage and develop the architecture for a broader scope of projects, working closely with Business Relationship Managers, Operations, Application Development, Infrastructure and Security teams to deliver a cohesive solution architecture for a single project or initiative.
    • Provide consulting support to project teams to ensure the project is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.
    • Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
    • Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
    • Understand, advocate and augment the principles of information technology strategies.
    • Analyze the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to identify critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation and innovation).
    • Analyze the technology industry, competitors and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
    • Develop the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
    • Design and direct the governance activities associated with ensuring solutions architecture assurance and compliance.
    • Develop system or application roadmaps for the evolution of the enterprise application portfolio from future to current state (as defined by the solutions architecture).
    • Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.
    • Consult with application, security and infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture.
    • Identify the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures or culture) and financial impact of the solutions architecture.
    • Document all solution architecture design and analysis work.
    • Interfaces across business and technology areas, acting as visionary to proactively assist in defining the direction for future projects.
    • Work closely with the program management office (PMO) to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with delivery agreements.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in at least three IT disciplines, including technical architecture, cloud computing (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS), application development (web, mobile, .Net/J2EE, Javascript frameworks, Agile methods, etc.), integration architecture (service-based, SOA, microservices, miniservices, etc.), information architecture, solution architecture, business architecture, security architecture, business intelligence, AI/ML, & data analytics (structured & unstructured data) and enterprise architecture (roadmaps, blueprints, technology strategy, portfolio management, etc.).
    • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
    • Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models
    • Manufacturing, Distribution or CPG experience is considered a strong asset.
    • SAP, Cloud (Azure), SharePoint, MS SQL Server, APIs, or SAP PO/PI experience is a strong asset.
    • Understanding of multiple business domains - Procurement, Logistics & Distribution, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Product Development, Human resources, Operations & Manufacturing.
    • Excellent understanding of application development methodologies and infrastructure & network architecture
    • Research new technologies and solutions in dedication to continuous improvement.
    • Ability to translate future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements
    • Ability to propose and estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives
    • Advanced ability to research, analyze, evaluate and recommend new technologies and software applications to meet the organization’s needs.
    • Advanced ability to research, analyze and recommend improvements to the organization’s use of the existing software applications.
    • Advanced skill in creating and maintaining technical documentation.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of associates.
    • Strong analytical, technical, planning and organizational skills.
    • Ability to operate successfully in a distributed, matrixed organization.
    • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

    • May be required to travel up to 25% of the time.
