    This position is primarily responsible for managing the communication with Asian customers within the International team. This will include coordination between pricing, product management, product development, new items, packaging and labeling for all products. The focus will be Asia with special emphasis on China.

    Responsibilities

    • Product development and product availability linking Fresh pork and International, coordinating the sale and production put down of frozen products.
    • Act as a liaison between China customers and the Smithfield International team.
    • Real time communications with International staff for written and verbal communications, which may include weekly conference calls, phone discussions, plant visits and all communication related to China.
    • Main contact with day to day sales and operational activity for the sales group.
    • Supports the sales team in attaining annual targets and operates with management and clients to determine business requirements.
    • Assuring focused and productive communication with the new and existing clients, external distributors, representatives and agents.
    • Resolves all complex inquiries from the clients and ensures customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for different kinds of administrative functions essential for everyday operation of the system and fulfillment of the company offers.

    • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 3+ years’ relevant experience, required.
    • Bilingual in Mandarin, required.
    • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    • Must be capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, both written and oral in English as well as Mandarin.
    • Must have strong negotiation skills.
    • Ability to develop positive relationships when part of a dynamic and cross-functional team.
    • Effective planning and organizational skills with demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills.
    • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
    • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
    • Must be able to travel 50% of the time with potential periods of time out of the US.
