    This position will primarily be responsible for product scheduling, routing, load planning and tracking for all chilled export shipments. Analyzes the distribution network and transportation options making recommendations that directly affect the volume and transportation cost for products that can be exported, to include directing the priority of items produced for the chilled export orders. Assists the Customer Service group by monitoring available inventory for export shipments. Works with loading facilities and logistics providers to resolve any errors/ issues that may arise and work with claims as necessary. Supports the Customer Service group by ensuring they have the available appointments and logistics support to schedule product for export. Works with the freight forwarder and loading facilities to make sure the Load Management System (LMS) is accurate and shows the orders scheduled for export.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows:

     

    Chilled Export Coordination

    • Creates, oversees and manages production schedules for production plants based on customer orders.
    • Directs and oversees the priority of items produced for all chilled export orders.
    • Manages the method of transport for chilled shipments each based on costs, weight, number of orders and locations.
    • Manages loading and transportation decisions that directly affect costs.
    • Responsible for tracking shipments weekly, including weekends.
    • Coordinates loading appointments at container facilities that include determining the least costly option and monitors loading for a timely delivery.

    Distribution Support

    • Assists Customer Service Representatives on product availability and ensures products located in facilities are cost effective.

    Claims Support

    • Assists claims department on matters related to export orders.

    Cold Storage and Freight Coordination

    • Coordinates with loading facilities on appointments and capacity.
    • Maintains our Load Management System (LMS).
    • Addresses issues with freight forwarder website.

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 2+ years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
    • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
    • Previous SAP experience, a plus.
    • May be required to travel on rare/occasional instances.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
